"As a visitor to Perth who likes to see live theatre, this was a terrific show in a great venue. The versatility and impact of the acting and its closeness was most appreciated."
Zen's Red Mouth audience member, July 2007

"Loved the show, I always enjoy the performances at The Blue Room. Artsy atmosphere, but not pretentious, cutting edge performances. Never boring"

"...it hit the first night audience like a slap in the face... provocative, controversial and hard to watch..." - The Australian

Written during the London bombings of 2005, Motortown is a fierce and violent response to the anti-war movement - and to the war itself.

"I don't blame the war. The war was alright. I miss it . . . It's just you come back to this."

Danny returns from Basra to a foreign England and a different kind of battle. He visits an old flame, buys a gun and goes on a blistering road trip through the new home front.

"British playwright Simon Stephens wanted to write, he says, a play 'which inculpated more than it absolved. I wanted to write about my guilt in creating and perpetuating the culture that drove these wars'…thankfully, Motortown is too angry, too pitilessly honest and too sardonically funny to be earnest." - The Australian

Chaotic and complex, powerful and provocative, Motortown serves-up a volatile and morally insecure world …pickled in vinegar.
