Renegade Productions return to flex their political, poetic, and vicious devised-theatre muscle with their acclaimed and controversial call to arms - Laryngectomy.
200 years ago the world was set on fire as people rose up against tyranny amidst the global call of “Liberty, Equality, Fraternity!” A principle fundamental to those revolutionary times was the idea that free speech should be protected at all cost.
It’s a shame this is still as controversial in 2012 as during the French Revolution!
Governments are slowly chipping away at this sacred, blood-stained right while even “liberal” belief is being eroded under the guise of political correctness.
Renegade Productions goes for the jugular in Laryngectomy: a heartfelt, interactive performance installation attacking the worms that have dined too well upon the sacred ideals of free speech.
WARNING: Contains violence, coarse language, nudity, and the use of smoke machine
